The program offered at Open My World follows the guidelines and standards set by PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International). Most all of the therapy sessions are private sessions. Group sessions usually include 2 students, no more than 3 individuals. With all sessions, the focus is on each individual, with his or her capabilities and needs in mind. As part of the therapy students complete various tasks which require stretching, bending, gross and fine motor skills, spatial awareness and balance. Prior to mounting students become aware and participate in grooming, tacking, caring for the animals and general knowledge about them.

In addition to the therapy, students also are exposed to various natural habitat surroundings while riding on the "sensory trail", and a petting zoo is also included in their experience at Open My World.
